The Department of Biological Statistics and Computational Biology is a department that consists of nine full-time faculty members with expertise in the mathematical sciences applied to biology, including statistics, probability, biomathematics, and computing.

It is with great sadness that the department announces the death of faculty professor Walter Federer. Walt came to Cornell in 1948 and been an active member of BSCB (formerly Biometrics) ever since. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
